Community Guidelines

The rules for posting, reviewing, messaging and redeeming on Zyrilo: keep it real, keep it respectful, keep it honest.

Last updated 29 October 2026

Zyrilo works because people trust what they see: a real dish, filmed at a real table, by someone who actually ate it. These guidelines protect that trust. They apply to everything on Zyrilo — reels, photos, reviews, comments, profiles, messages, offers and campaigns.

They sit alongside our Terms of Service. Breaking them can lead to content removal, strikes or losing your account.

1. Keep it real

  • Film and photograph what you actually ordered, at the restaurant you tag. Tag the right restaurant and dish.
  • No AI-generated, stock or borrowed food imagery presented as your own.
  • Heavy edits that change what the food looks like — portion size, colour, freshness — are not allowed. Normal trimming, cropping and lighting fixes are fine.
  • Content from verified creators and restaurants that passes our checks can carry a Verified shot badge. Unbadged content can still appear, but ranks lower.

2. Say when it's paid

If you were paid, given free food, a discount or anything else of value for a post, say so clearly at the start of the caption or on screen, for example #Ad, #Collab or Paid partnership. This is required by the Advertising Standards Council of India's guidelines for influencer advertising, and by these guidelines. Campaign posts made through Zyrilo must be labelled too.

3. Be respectful

  • Criticise the food, the service or the price — honestly and without personal attacks. Don't insult, harass or target staff, owners, creators or other users.
  • No hate speech or content that attacks people based on religion, caste, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic.
  • No threats, intimidation, stalking or encouraging others to pile on someone.
  • Don't impersonate people, restaurants or brands.

4. Honest reviews only

  • Review places you have actually visited, based on your own experience.
  • No fake reviews, and no buying, selling or trading reviews. Restaurants must not review themselves or competitors, or offer rewards for positive reviews.
  • No coordinated review campaigns to push a rating up or down.

5. Keep it safe

  • No nudity or sexual content, and nothing that sexualises minors — ever. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities.
  • No violence or gore, and no dangerous eating challenges that risk injury.
  • No sale or promotion of illegal drugs, tobacco or weapons. Alcohol content must follow the law where you are, and must not target anyone under the legal drinking age.
  • No content promoting self-harm or eating disorders.
  • No false health claims about food.

6. Respect other people's rights

  • Only post content you created or have permission to use. Don't repost other creators' videos.
  • Don't use copyrighted music unless you hold the rights. Use original audio, or mute the clip.
  • Don't post other people's personal information — phone numbers, addresses, documents — or private messages.
  • Ask before making staff or other diners the focus of your video, and never film secretly in private areas.

7. Play fair with offers

  • One person, one account, one redemption per offer unless the offer says otherwise.
  • Don't share, sell or screenshot-and-reuse QR codes. They are personal and expire quickly.
  • Creators must not redeem their own campaign offers, or arrange fake redemptions, to earn.
  • Restaurants must honour every valid redemption of an offer they published.

Fraud leads to reversed redemptions, withheld or clawed-back earnings, and account suspension.

8. No spam or manipulation

  • No fake engagement: bought views, likes, follows or saves, or follow-for-follow schemes.
  • No misleading links, scams, or repeated identical posts and comments.
  • No unsolicited promotional messages.

9. How we enforce these guidelines

Uploads are screened automatically, and anyone can report content from the app. Content reported by 5 or more people may be hidden while our team reviews it. New accounts start with limited reach and posting limits that lift as they build trust.

Depending on how serious and repeated a breach is, we may:

  • remove the content or reduce how widely it is shown;
  • issue a strike — strikes expire after 90 days, and repeated strikes lead to restrictions;
  • remove a verification badge, creator status or restaurant access;
  • suspend or permanently ban the account, and any accounts made to get around a ban.

Serious harm — such as child sexual abuse material, credible threats or fraud — leads to an immediate ban and may be reported to the authorities.

10. Reporting and appeals

Report a reel, restaurant, dish, review or creator from its menu in the app. Reports are confidential; the person reported is not told who reported them.

If your content was removed or your account restricted and you think we got it wrong, contact our Grievance Officer.
